Dusseldorf's finest talks hip-hop and Ibiza.
What makes a truly successful DJ? A distinct voice. Over the course of the past half-decade, Dusseldorf's Loco Dice has had one of the most singular styles of all. Growing up hip-hop in Germany, Dice's brash attitude and newcomer status has been criticized by some. But it's been embraced by many more. Indeed, he's taken advantage of the fact that his ears are wired differently than those who have been "in the scene" for years. He takes records that similar DJs wouldn't touch, and plays them differently. With a legendary residency at DC-10 behind him and a successful label alongside production partner Martin Buttrich, Dice has clearly caught up to his peers in terms of knowledge. But he hasn't mellowed a bit, as we found out when we caught up with him at Desolat HQ in Dusseldorf late last year.
